Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) – State of Illinois Irrigation Contractor License
Section 892.20(b) of the Illinois Lawn Irrigation Contractor and Lawn Sprinkler System Registration Code states irrigation contractors shall provide proof that at least one irrigation employee has completed and passed an approved class in the design and installation of lawn sprinkler system (includes installs, spring start-ups, winterizations and repairs). It also states that everyone working on a job site must be licensed and must show that license upon request of the home owner. Most importantly, all contractors must possess a certificate of insurance for general liability with a minimum of $100,000 per occurrence, bodily injury with a minimum of $300,000, property damage insurance with a minimum of $50,000, worker’s compensation insurance an indemnification bond (Illinois Department of Health must be the “Oblige” in the amount of $20,000. There are NO contract requirements in order to start-up/winterize your systems and we do not require an extra charge for Summer Maintenance unless you call us to report a problem.
